The Micro Enterprise Development Programme (MEDEP IV), being implemented by the Ministry of Industry, contributes to the poverty reduction and employment generation efforts of the Government of Nepal (GoN) through micro-entrepreneurship development. It aims to support GoN to implement Micro Enterprise Development for Poverty Alleviation (MED-PA) by building the capacities of government at central and local levels to develop and create structures, policies and enabling environment to implement micro enterprise development and strengthening access to markets, finance and business development services.
MEDEP is seeking applications from qualified, talented and result oriented Nepalese citizens for the following positions:
Job title: Communication and Documentation Specialist (CDS), NPPP II
No. of Position: One
Station: Kathmandu with extensive visits to MEDEP and MED-PA districts
Duration: Annual contract with possibilities of extension
Key Responsibilities: CDS is responsible to: document best practices and success case studies of different entrepreneurs and products promoted by MEDEP and Government of Nepal under MED-PA programme; document them as part of the fourth phase completion report; support the capacity building of BDSPO on documentation and communications; train MEDEP and MED-PA staff in technical writing of successful case studies; best practices and other occasional reports; co-ordinate with stakeholders and different media for the dissemination of MEDEP information and its initiatives to have a greater impact and outreach of the programme’s achievements.
Required Qualification and Experience: Completion of Masters’ Degree in Development Communication, Journalism, Management, Social Science or relevant fields. Additional degree in English language will be an added value. 5 years of experience in development communication activities in Nepal or in developing countries. Typing skills in Nepali language will be an added advantage.

Job title: Senior Administration and Finance Assistant (SAFA) SU-7
No. of Position: One
Station: Kathmandu with frequent travel to programme districts
Duration: Annual contract with possibilities of extension
Key Responsibilities: SAFA is responsible to: maintain records on financial accounts, personnel, procurement and inventory; manage administrative work and provide logistic support for smooth implementation of programme; prepare and submit quarterly financial reports and annual inventory report to UNDP office; co-coordinate with SMES to prepare annual and quarterly work plans for office procurements; prepare monthly shadow budget for tracking the delivery of the programme.
Required Qualification and Experience: Completion of Bachelors’ Degree in Business Management, Accounting or relevant fields. 5 years of experience in financial accounting including auditing, reporting and exposure in administration of development programme; ability to operate finance software independently. Typing skills in Nepali language will be an added advantage.
