Job Description

The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) was established on April 1, 1991 under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of the Republic of Korea to implement Korea’s grant aid assistance. Since the establishment, KOICA has been at the forefront of Korea’s international development effort. KOICA’s aim is to facilitate socio-economic development of its partner countries through project type assistance, dispatch of Korean Volunteers, Fellowship Program, Public-Private Partnership Program and Multilateral Cooperation. Improving Maternal and Child Health Care in Mugu is one of the KOICA’s projects, and currently KOICA is looking for experienced and qualified Nepali nationals to fill the following positions.

Position Title : Community Health Facilitator

Required No : 15

Project : Improving Maternal and Child Healthcare Project Mugu, KOICA

Duty Station : VDC based (Within Mugu district)

Duration : 1 Year (with the possibility of extension)

Reporting To : Community Health Manager

Major Duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Implement project activities at VDC and ward level
  • Coordinate for MCH and Hygiene related training and other activities targeted for

community leaders, FCHVs and mother group members as well as support local health facilities

  • Counsel to mothers and households on maternal and child health related behaviors
  • Support in reactivation and conduction of PHC/ORC and HFOMC
  • Conduct social mobilization activities to increase institutional delivery and health seeking behavior of people
  • Proper recording and reporting of the project activities as well as support local health facilities in data management and documentation
  • Advocacy and coordination at VDC and ward level

Required qualification and skills:

  • PCL in general medicine (HA) or nursing (SN) with at least one year of work experience OR ANM/CMA with at least two years of work experience in similar field.
  • Facilitation and counseling on MCH
  • Report writing, case studies
  • Knowledge on government health system and local health issues
