Government of Nepal and the Government of Switzerland have signed a bilateral agreement to initiate a SMALL IRRIGATION PROGRAMME (SIP) – PHASE I, in nine districts of Nepal namely Ramechhap, Okhaldhunga, Khotang, Udayapur, Sindhuli, Achham, Dailekh, Jajarkot and Kalikot. Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) will provide a financial and technical supports to Government of Nepal (GoN) represented by Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development (MoFALD) and its Department of Local Infrastructure and Agricultural Roads (DoLIDAR).
Joint-Venture (1V) of GEOCE Consultants (P) Ltd., Total Management Services Pvt Ltd. (TMS) and Aviyaan Consulting (P) Ltd, has set up a – TA team on behalf of SDC. In order to supplement its team, the JV is now seeking applications from the qualified and experienced Nepali Nationals for the following positions:
1. DISTRICT IRRIGATION ENGINEER : 2 positions ( Kalikot and Khotang District) Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering with preferably 5 years’ experience in planning and design of small irrigation systems. The expert should be familiar with the use of GPS survey methodologies, be proficient in use of GIS and Auto CAD software.
2. SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT OFFICER: 1 position ( Achham District)
Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in a development field (sociology, anthropology or rural development with preferably 5 years working experience in development projects in social issues. At least 3 years’ experience in rural development and participatory project planning and preparation methodologies, including social surveys and skills in social and poverty analysis, and rapid rural appraisal techniques.
3. SUB ENGINEER: few (any 9 project districts)
Qualifications and Experience: IE in civil engineering preferable with 3 years’ experience in planning and design small scale irrigation schemes. Familiar with the use of GPS survey methodologies and the use of GIS and AutoCAD software.
4. ASSISTANT SUB ENGINEERs: few (any 9 project districts)
Qualifications and Experience: Diploma in Civil Engineering from CTEVT recognized university /TSLC from CTEVT preferably with 3 years’ experience in planning and design small scale irrigation schemes. Familiar with the use of GPS survey methodologies and the use of GIS and AutoCAD software.
Duration of Employment: The initial contracts for the above positions are for the period up to February 2019.
