Program Development and Quality (PDQ) Director

As a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT) in Nepal. the Program Development and Quality (PDQ) Director is responsible for overseeing and ensuring strategic development of high quality, evidence based, innovative full spectrum programs that deliver immediate and lasting change for children and contribute to Save the Children’s global Breakthroughs: Learn. Survive, Be Protected. One of the key aspects of the role is ensuring capacity building. mentoring and coaching of thematic leads and advisors in order to build strong PDQ department.

Term and Location: Fixed term position based in Nepal Country Office,Kathmandu

Required Qualification: Master’s degree or equivalent in Human Rights. Development Studies. NGO Management or relevant Social Science with at least 10 years (7 years for GS’ group) of senior management experience preferably in an INGO environment, including experience in designing and developing thematic programs/projects for children in both emergency and development contexts as well as ensuring the effective program/project quality

Required Knowledge and Skills: The position holder should have demonstrated significant experience in thematic programiprojects (in either of Education. Health & Nutrition, HIV & AIDS. Child Right Governance & Child Protection. Child Poverty and/or Humanitarian Response sector) in a developing country context. She/He should have sound experience in program/project development and program cycle management along with the ability to work in a complex organization structure. She/He should have substantial knowledge and experience in designing and establishing mechanisms to ensure program/project quality and results.The position holder should possesses sound strategic thinking and planning skills including the ability to think creatively and be innovative, set priorities, manage work plans and evaluate progress. Sitie should have highly developed relationship building. negotiation and interpersonal skills to work in collaboration with donors. members, government and manage diverse team of national and international professionals.
