Deutsche Gesellschaft Mr Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH invites applications from suitable and qualified professionals for the Nepal-German Support to the Health Sector Programme (S2HSP), executed by Ministry of Health (IvloH) and supported by GIZ. on behalf of German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (SW). S2HSP is in line with the Nepal Health Sector Strategy (NHSS) 2015-2020 and aims to Improve access to effective and quality healthcare services, particularly for disadvantaged dhuration groups in Nepal, S2HSP is focusing on 4 key result areas: Social Health Insurance, including quality management system and hospital management, Sexual and Reproductive Health including adolescents, maternal, neonatal child health and midwifery education, Governance in Health (urban healthcare system and federal health system), and Strengthening Health Information Systems.
Position: Programme Officer — Social Health Insurance (SHI)
Duty Station: Dhangadi
Duration: till June 2018
Responsibilities:
Programme Officer — SHI will support the Senior Technical Advisor in the effective implementation of S2HSP programme activities in the area of Health Insurance/Hospital Management in Far-Western region to execute the following tasks:
- Providing technical support to the effective and efficient roll-out of the social health insurance scheme in the Far Western Region
- Supporting the social health insurance and empaneled health facilities in the operation and maintenance of the web based information system
- Providing technical support in the area of hospital management
- Supporting the seamless collaboration between all GIZ supported activities in the Far Western Region
Required qualification and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Studies, Computer Science andior Information Technologyand a minimum of 3-5years of professional experience
- Technical knowledge and working experience in IT is required
- Experience in public health and development cooperation will be an asset
- Sound knowledge in the area of health insurance, health/hospital financing is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to be a good team player and able to work in a multicultural and multi-sectoral environment
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English and Nepali.
