Job Description
Abt Associates is currently seeking two qualified professionals for the DFID-funded recently launched Monitoring, Evaluation and Operational Research (MEOR) lot of DFID Nepal’s National Health Sector Programme (NHSP3). The MEOR will enable DFID Nepal to continuously improve and adapt its programme to ensure that the NHSP3 intended outcomes and impact are achieved.
1. Senior Data Analyst:
Key responsibilities include: Lead data analysis of primary and/or secondary quantitative and/or qualitative data as required by the programme to produce evidence to inform NHSP3 and other DFID’s programmes, GoN and other stakeholders; Identify data analysis requirements and develop data analysis plan; Undertake cleaning of survey data and ensure data quality; Support member of the core MEOR team in translating data into visualizations for use in programme reports, presentations, etc.
Qualification requirements: Master’s Degree or higher with demonstrated expertise in data analysis and research; At least 6 years’ professional experience in complex data analysis to support research; Professional level skill in using statistical packages STATA, SPSS etc. and writing reports of results; Proficient in using qualitative data analysis software such as Nvivo; Experience in using interactive data visualization products, in particular DHIS 2; Experience in analyzing secondary data sets from national surveys; Nepalese national.
2. Knowledge Management and Communication Advisor:
Key responsibilities include: Conduct a stakeholder assessment to determine key learning communities; Develop a knowledge management framework and establish a mechanism and tools for learning across NHSP3; Develop a communications and outreach strategy; Generate and disseminate quality knowledge products and evidence resulting from monitoring, evaluation, and research activities under NHSP3; Contribute to health sector reviews including health sector/Ministry of Health mid-term and annual progress reviews; Coordinate closely with the DFID’s other NHSP3 suppliers to provide feedback into the project and to produce and disseminate information that will be useful for healthcare beneficiaries;
Qualification requirements; Master’s degree or higher in relevant field or equivalent work experience; Minimum of 6 years of work experience (at least 2 years of experience in international development projects preferably in the health sector); Demonstrated ability to work with teams to produce written products and media, adhering to deadlines, and short turn-around times; Excellent IT proficiency, including data visualization and communication tools; Excellent writing and editing skills (both in English and Nepali) required; Nepalese national.
