Heifer Project International Nepal (HPIN), a non-profit, humanitarian organization dedicated to ending hunger and poverty and caring for earth since last 20 years. HPIN invites applications from interested and eligible Nepalese Citizens for the following positions:
1. Business Development and Access to Finance Lead (Kathmandu based with min. 60% time in field)
Function: The Business Development and Access to Finance Lead will be responsible for development and execution of the overall strategic vision, goals, and objectives of the access to finance component. S/he will conceptualize and implement innovative approaches to link farm entrepreneurs and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in the livestock/agriculture sector with financial institutions. This position will be responsible for exploring appropriate financial service provider and maintain long-term and productive/functional relationships with both financial institutions and program beneficiaries.
Educational Qualifications and Experience: Master’s degree in Agriculture Economics/Finance/Business management with minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in the field of agriculture/livestock value chains including access to finance.
2. Market Development Specialist (Kathmandu based with min. 50% time in field)
Function: The Market Development Specialist (MDS) will take lead on connecting the producer owned cooperatives with public and private sector for post-production value additional activities to develop and operationalize viable businesses. Following the strategy of Public Private Producer Partnership (PPPP), MDS will explore and collaborate with different Public Private Producers (PPP) to strengthen the forward and backward linkages in both product and input/service markets. MDS will take lead on developing and managing prototypes towards upgrading the value chains and develop scale-up strategies for the wider benefit of project beneficiaries
Educational Qualifications and Experience: Master’s Degree or equivalent in the fields of Agriculture Economics, Business Administration, Rural Development, Enterprise Development or related field with minimum 5 years of field and technical experience on commercial sector, agribusiness development, value chain and investment promotion.
