Sustainable Energy for All (SE4ALL) initiative, launched by the UN Secretary-General in 2011, is a multi-stakeholder partnership between government, private sector, and civil society to achieve the three interlinked objectives of universal Energy Access, Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency by 2030.Nepal opted into this initiative in 2012 and the National Planning Commission (NPC) is the lead agency. UNDP has been providing technical assistance to NPC for implementation of SE4ALL initiative in Nepal since the beginning and Renewable Energy for Rural Livelihood (RERL) is implementing activities of SE4ALL.

RERL is seeking applications from qualified, talented and result oriented candidates for the following assignment:

Post Title: Capacity Development Officer (NPPP 1) – Temporary contract

No. of position: 1

Duration: 11 months

Duty Station: Kathmandu with frequent travel to the districts

Job Responsibilities: Plan, design, prepare and implement SE4ALL capacity development activities in collaboration with NPC and as per the needs specified by the Government and partners. Identify capacity development requirements of NPC and related government officials. Design training programmes collaboratively by involving key stakeholders. Develop training modules focusing on different topics linked with current trends of Energy Access, Efficiency, and Sustainable Development Goals etc. Identify potential partners and institutions for training need assessment, conduct training activities and engage in contracting institutions as per the need.

Required qualifications and experiences: Completion of Master’s degree in Social Science, Development Studies, Public Administration or relevant field. Three years of experience in project/programme in the area of capacity building. Strong knowledge and experience of conducting training programmes in development sector preferably focusing on government institution.
