CARE Nepal is a n international humanitarian organization working in the country for the past .38 years, It currently works in 89 districts through various programs on issues relating to improving the lives of the poorest and most vulnerable populations through programs that work on the ca themes: food security and climate change; emergency preparedness and ORR; C’ migration and urbanization; sexual reproductive and maternal health; gender based violence; women and girls’ leadership. Marginalized Women and Adolescent Girls are our two primary impact groups. Core priories include investment in the empowerment and leadership of women and girls, reaching hard to reach population, good governance and accountability, working in partnership and alliance with I ike-minded actors, and evidence-based advocacy.
CARE Nepal hereby invites applications, for the below mentioned positions, from interested Nepalese candidates for its Country Office and for the USAID funded project Hariyo Ban Program II which is a follow on to the 5 year Harty° Ban Program implemented from 2011 – 2016. The Hariyo Ban Program aims to reduce the adverse impacts °tamale change and threats to biodiversity in Nepal.
1. Advocacy and Communications Manager (based in Kathmandu)
Key responsibility: This role is responsible for leading the advocacy and communication initiatives of CARE Nepal Country office and providing leadership in these areas to the rest of the organisation. The incumbent will strengthen CARE Nepal’s internal and external communications, support staff and partners in developing programme-related communication and advocacy initiatives, and manage the publication of important promotional materials related to CARE Nepal. The role is required to lead on the preparation and production of CARE Nepa Is communication materials as we’ll as provide support to CARE Nepal’s Senior Management Team in liaison, co-ordination and reputation management with our partners, other 1/NG0s, civi I society networks, government stakeholders, journalists and media orgy nizations.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience: Master’s degree in media, communications, advocacy, sociology or other relevant field with a minimum of five years experience in relevant field of work, e.g. communication, journalism,informadon management, public relations, media, advocacy
2. MS& Officer — Hariyo Ban Program (based in Pokhara)
Key responsibilities: The M&E Officer is primarily responsible for maintaining and updating the database system, preparing half yearly and annual performance reports in close coordination with the program units and field offices. The incumbent will be responsible for assisting field team to implement HB annual plan including monitoring and evaluation plan. S/he will carry out adequate field monitoring to ensure that the program interventions are implemented as per program development qualities, set indicators and targets.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in one of the disciplines in Forestry, Agriculture, Environmental Science and Natural Resource Management with at least 3 years of working experience in Monitoring and Evaluation of particularly in forestry, climate change adaptation, disaster reduction and/or watershed management project.
3. Administrative Assistant—Hariyo Ban Program (based in Pokhara)
Key responsibilities: The incumbent will assist in the Finance & Administrative duties and provide logistic support to maintain adequate facility for Hariyo Ban Program and its projects to upkeep utilities and maintenance. S/he will ensure inventory and stock items are timely dispatched to the project sites with close coordination with Procurement, ‘Vehicle, Inventory arid the IT unit of CARE Nepal Central Office. The incumbent will also I iaise with relevant Government authorities for the smooth functioning of the project
Preferred Qualifications and Experience: intermediate with preferably 2 years of relevant experience in a similar position with a proven ability to handle national and international correspondence.
