Wefthungerhilfe (WHH) was founded in 1962 as the National Committee of the “Freedom from Hunger Campaign” set up by the United Nations’ Food and Agricultural Organization (FA0).At present, WHH is one of Germany’s leading non-governmental organizations with a dual-mandate in both development cooperation and emergency response. WHH is a non-profit, non-denominational and politically independent organization that works to create a world in which all people can exercise their right to a self-determined life in dignity and justice, free from hunger and poverty,
WHH is operational in Nepal since 2012, and is currently managing different projects in nine districts under three programmatic areas: food and nutrition security; right to food and empowerment, and EQ rehabilitation and disaster risk reduction, Out overall goal is to work hand in hand with civil socity in Nepal to empower socially marginalized and economically poor citizens to reinforce their resilience and to ensure right to adequate food and nutrition.
We are currently seeking qualified candidates (Nepali citizens) far the positions of:
1. Project Coordinator:
based in Salyan, will manage the partners, line agencies and stakeholders at district and local level; report to and coordinate with the Program Manager at Country Office for the effective planning, monitoring and implementation of the project “Improving livelihood of Marginalised Community in Salyan”OLMO and “Building Community Enterprises of Smal l-holders in Bangladesh and Nepal” (BUS). The ILIAC and BCES projects focus on agriculture, value chain/enterprise development, nutrition and governance in Saban district. The candidate should hold a Master’s degree in Agriculture, Rural Development, or similar discipline and at least 7 years of experience in project management. Knowledge and skills on Rights- based approaches, GESI,nutrition, agriculture and value chain development are an asset.
2. Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Officer:
based at Kathmandu Country Office with frequent visits to the field, will be responsible for the implementation of the results-based Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (PM EL) Framework. The candid a to should hold a Masters degree in Statistics, Rural Development, Sociology 01 similar discipline and at least 5 years of experience in the relevant area.
For bath the position fluency in Nepali and English languages are essential and Germ /language is an asset.
