Vacancy for General Manager

Job Description

A reputed and well-established company engaged in manufacturing and trading of construction materials is looking for a suitable candidate for the position of: General Manager (based in Kathmandu valley) Role Summary: Under direct supervision of Managing Director, s/he will be responsible for planning, developing, implementing and overseeing company’s sales and marketing, production, operations, administration and financial management of the company.

Key responsibilities:

  • Along with the Managing Director, responsible for development and maintenance of long-term strategy based on long-term financial and production forecasting and scenario building.
  • Oversee financial management, administration, and production to ensure smooth operation
  • Plan, control and direct activities of sales and marketing to secure maximum sales volume and profit target and to develop maximum potential sales from all markets for the Company’s products and
  • Lead and direct execution teams in bringing in new business and meeting commitments in terms of quality, delivery and value for the price paid by the customer.
  • Ensure company legal documents are complete, signed and in conformity with local laws and regulations and coordinate with ministries, local authorities, and other appropriate agencies as and when required.
  • Compile and analyze data on economic, social, and physical factors affecting business development, and prepare or contract for reports on data.
  • Support managing Director in any other tasks as and when required.

Required qualification and skills:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Business Studies, management or related field with seven (7) years of experience in management or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Studies or management or related field with ten (10) years of experience in management
  • Minimum three years of experience to 4 years of management experience in manufacturing field will be preferred
  • Result-oriented with good business acumen, communication & interpersonal skills
  • Independent & must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Considerable knowledge of local Labor laws, rules and regulations and experience in labor relations techniques and negotiations and ability to interact tactfully and persuasively with others in controversial situations
  • Ability to maintain effective professional relationships at all organizational levels, with Board of Directors, external stakeholders
  • Ability to plan, prepare, review, and present clear and concise findings and reports to Boards of Directors, managers, staff, and the external stakeholders
  • Excellent standard of spoken and written English and Nepali
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications; Nepali typing skills will be highly preferred
